Your course fees include everything you need to graduate. The only additional fees that may be payable are as follows:
Extensions
Key points:
- A once-off extension of 2 weeks may be granted if requested at least 14 days before the course end date. Extensions are typically approved for genuine reasons (e.g., temporary illness, family emergency) and if you’ve made satisfactory course progress and attended most workshops.
- Further extensions may also be granted at no cost for compassionate reasons, upon providing supporting documentation.
- In cases where the remaining coursework is impractical to complete within the extension period, you may be withdrawn from any incomplete units and would need to re-enroll in the next available intake, subject to availability.
- Extensions cannot be granted for superseded courses.
- Extensions are granted at Accellier’s sole discretion.
Paid extensions are $160 per month, and only payable if approved.
Leave of Absence
We understand that unforeseen circumstances can sometimes prevent students from completing their course as planned. While many of our courses are designed as intensive, once-off programs with limited future intakes, we are committed to supporting our students and will do our best to assist you in continuing your studies when you are ready.
Eligibility
A Leave of Absence may be considered for students who are experiencing genuine and significant circumstances that prevent them from continuing their studies, such as:
- Serious illness or injury supported by a medical certificate from a registered health professional.
- Bereavement: Loss of a close family member (e.g., parent, sibling, child, partner).
- Family emergency or critical situations requiring your immediate and sustained attention.
- Other compassionate or compelling circumstances, as determined by Accellier on a case-by-case basis.
A Leave of Absence is generally not granted:
- For general workload management or personal preference.
- For reasons that could have been reasonably anticipated or planned for.
- Where courses have been superseded, or are no longer being offered.
Requesting a Leave of Absence
- Students must submit the Leave of Absence Request Form above.
- All requests must be accompanied by relevant supporting documentation.
- Requests should be submitted as soon as possible after the need for leave arises. Late submissions may impact your eligibility.
- All Leave of Absence requests are subject to review and approval by Accellier at our sole discretion.
Impact of a Leave of Absence
Upon approval of a Leave of Absence, your current enrolment in the course will be suspended.
Due to the nature of our delivery programs, we cannot guarantee placement in a future intake or in an equivalent course.
We will, however, make every reasonable effort to facilitate your return to studies when you are ready. This may involve:
- Offering a place in the next available intake of the same course, if capacity allows.
- Exploring placement in a similar or equivalent course if the original course is full or no longer offered.
- Offering placement in an equivalent course with a different delivery mode, if capacity allows.
- Providing guidance on alternative study pathways, if applicable.
Please be aware that if you return to a future intake, the course content, structure, fees, and delivery methods may have changed. You will be subject to the policies, procedures, requirements and expectations in effect at the time of your re-enrolment.
During an approved Leave of Absence, any completed units will remain on record, but you will not be considered an actively enrolled student. Access to facilities, services, and online learning platforms may be restricted.
Financial Implications
You may be liable for fees for the current course up to the point of your Leave of Absence request, depending on when your request is approved in relation to unit start dates and payment deadlines.
You may be required to pay additional fees for a future intake, if that course has a higher fee. Credit balance from the interrupted course will be held and applied towards future enrolment, subject to our Refund Policy.
An application fee of $35 may apply if your application is successful.
Returning from a Leave of Absence
A key part of our Leave of Absence application consideration includes discussing and mutually agree upon your intended return date and the specific future course intake you will join. This agreement will be provided to you in writing upon approval of your leave.
It is the your responsibility to contact Accellier at least 30 days prior to returning from leave, indicating your intentions to resume your course. If we do not hear from you, you may forfeit your opportunity to join the agreed course.
Consequences of Not Returning / Unable to Place
If you do not return to the agreed course, or if we are unable to place you in a suitable future intake within a reasonable period, up to 12 months, you may be formally withdrawn from the course.
While we strive to accommodate all students, we are not liable for the inability to place a student in a future intake, especially if the original course is no longer offered, capacities are reached, or an equivalent course cannot be identified.
Certificate re-issuance
Lost certificates may be reissued at $35 per certificate.
A simple electronic transcript of results may be re-issued at no cost.
Proof of identity must be supplied to obtain re-issued certification or transcripts.
